It is great for personal defense, property protection and security so long as the user recognizes the limitations of the 9mm even in a carbine rifle. Compatible with any standard M-LOK/Keymod system and picatinny rail accessories mounting. Precision machined out of premium alloy black. Hollow Design, Precision manufactured, sturdy and durable. I may look for a flat KeyMod sling mount later. Perfect M-LOK / KeyMod rail section includes 3-slot, 7-slot, 11-slot Rails. This is a heavy duty unit, but admittedly, it protrudes out a bit. One other accessory I added to the included KeyMod rail section is a GG&G push button sling mount. The MPX works well with a red dot scope, as shooters may find the rear sight too close. SIG offers a one-inch accessory recoil pad but thus far I have not been able to locate one. I wish there were several more inches of length. Unfortunately, Leupold discontinued this scope, but it is a nice unit.Īn interesting aspect about the SIG MPX is the rather short length of pull even when the stock is fully extended from the receiver. The scope has a 3-5 inch eye relief and an integrated mount. The Leupold is a Tactical Prismatic scope with a 30mm tube, 1X power, illuminated reticle powered by a battery module via a 3N lithium battery. As a backup, there is a Trijicon MRO sight in the wings. Currently I have a Leupold red dot mounted right now getting ready for the range. The SIG MPX is keenly ripe for the mounting of an electronic red dot optic. The top of the rail is cut in Picatinny slots for mounting optics. I will probably replace this with a small sized vertical grip. There is a forward hand stop rest that can be mounted on the rail bottom to provide enhanced control. These sights are very easy to adjust on target. These pop up or down with the push of a button. SIG offers 10-20-30 mags for the MPX.Īlso included with the carbine are BUIS open back up sights. Unfortunately, there are no installations instructions in the parts bags, so you have to have an intuitive nature.

The carbine came with two sets of Picatinny rail sections to mount wherever via the KeyMod slots, plus a rather unique push button sling mount.

The MPX is sort of AR-15ish in aesthetics and operating controls.

It is one slick gun designed for close quarter’s defensive work with the full capability to extend an offensive line of fire just as well. I haven't had an issue at all.For some time now, I have been working with the factory sample of the SIG MPX Carbine in 9mm. I stopped keeping accurate counts of ammo through both my MPXs but I'm guessing 7-8000 rounds through the one. There shouldn't be a need to mess with it. I sort of expected this since it was originally the 16" barrel but it'd be nice to have a reference before I enlarge it a bit. It runs flawlessly suppressed but with my Barking Spider I only get last round hold open about 25% of the time. CNC machined out of aircraft grade billet aluminum. To the best of my abilities, I've measured my gas port between 0.050" and 0.055". Timber Creek Outdoors 5 slot rail section compatible with any KeyMod system and creates a space for mounting accessories. My barrel was an 8" and I cut it down to 4" threaded 1/2x28ĭid you enlarge the gas port at all? If so, to what size? when securing KeyMod Fasteners on Polymer accessories. For load bearing accessories, we recommend aluminum Picatinny rail sections. Please note: Nylon/Polymer Picatinny rail sections are for NON-load bearing accessories only. I ask because I cut my 16" carbine barrel down to 4.5" but had it threaded 1/2x28 and run my Barking Spider 2 on it, however I have a factory 4.5" on the way but it just dawned on me the threads won't match. Fits ALL KeyMod interface mounting surfaces. Im looking at taking a carbine course at Trigger Time in a couple weeks so ill be in the area.ĭsully, I just realized that you seem to have all genuine Sig parts but that would mean your K barrel is threaded 13.5 x 1 LH while the Barking Spider only comes threaded in 1/2x28.ĭid you have one of the factory 4.5" barrels cut every-so-slightly and re-threaded to 1/2x28? Thanks brother, I may just take you up on that. If ur ever around Sanford hit me up and u can check it out in person. Honestly I don't even notice the partial slots when it's all together.

I did have pretty good luck with attaching bcm keymod covers and cuttin the flush with the end of the rail. Yea it's pretty impossible to have no partial keymod after the chop. Seems like its impossible to get them cut and have no partial keymod slots or partial pic rail sections. Would you mind posting a pic of your handguard after the chop? Ive seen several of the KeyMod guards chopped and it looks like everyone is cutting them in slightly different places. Barrel cut to 4" and rail chop by class III maching. Done for now, just waiting on form 1 to come back.
